How It Works

The formula includes an instant cosmetic guide colour that ensures even application. Beneath this, tanning actives gradually develop into a deeper, richer tone within hours. The guide layer can be rinsed off after 24 hours, revealing the fully developed tan underneath.

Each additional application builds colour intensity, allowing competitors to customise their final stage look.

How to Use Pro Tan Overnight Competition Colour Base Coat

Shake well before use. Apply to clean, dry skin for best results.

For manual application, spray the product onto the included applicator mitt and blend evenly over the body using smooth, circular motions. Apply lighter amounts around hairlines, knees, elbows, and ankles to ensure a natural-looking finish.

For airbrush application, pour 3–4 oz. from the 8.5 oz. bottle into the airbrush cup. Spray evenly from the top of the body downward using horizontal strokes, ensuring all areas are fully covered. Use airflow from the HVLP spray gun to help speed up drying time.

An instant bronzed colour will appear immediately to guide even application, with the tan continuing to deepen over the next 3–5 hours. Allow approximately 30 minutes before contact with clothing or water.

For a darker result, apply additional coats as desired. In the morning, rinse away the cosmetic guide colour to reveal the developed tan underneath.

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA)

DHA reacts with the proteins in the outer layer of the skin to develop a deep, natural-looking tan that enhances muscle definition under stage lighting.

Colour Blend (CI 42090, CI 19140, CI 17200, CI 14700)

A carefully balanced blend of cosmetic colourants designed to create the rich, dark mahogany tone preferred for bodybuilding and physique competitions.

Propylene Glycol

Helps the formula spread smoothly and evenly across the skin, supporting streak-free application and consistent colour development.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

Supports even application and helps the tanning colour fade more uniformly after use.
